In 2022, INFORMA Seminary, a vital Christian institution in Spain, embarked on a mission to empower Latino communities across the EMERALD Region.
The Old City Jerusalem Alliance Church began in 1890, when it embarked on its mission during political turmoil in the region. Today, nestled amid ancient stones, it stands as a beacon of hope, proudly representing the sole Arab evangelical presence in the Old City. Though their journey has been fraught with challenges, their unwavering spirit shines brightly.
After the catastrophic earthquake that shook the region on February 6, 2023, the Alliance church in Aleppo has become a home for the displaced and a symbol of resilience for the community.
On the morning of November 25, 2023, a group of ministers representing the Alliance in Ukraine were involved in a serious car accident on the icy road from Dnipro to Balakleya. The group was en route to a pastors’ meeting, where the commitment of these leaders to collaborative efforts and fellowship within the Alliance was evident.
After more than 15 years, the AWF EMERALD Regional Conference returned to France, providing fellowship and challenging participants to refresh their thoughts and perspectives about global missions.
“Developing a young generation of pastors and lay leaders to carry on the mission of the church” is one of his priorities as the new president, says Rev. Munther Shahatit.

Keen on the multiplication of disciples, Olivier LO is committed to the “together to grow” slogan, preparing the Alliance family in France for being in one culture and reaching people from another culture. Elected on May 22 as president of the Alliance of France, Rev. LO began his two-year term on October 1, 2022.
It was early Saturday morning, July 9, 2022, when I received the sad news that my good friend, Rev. Issam Farah, had died of a heart problem. Rev. Farah was a kind man, with a strong and solid faith. Calm and secure, he brought joy to all around him. His passing is a great loss for the C&MA in Syria and the surrounding region. We appreciate your prayers for his wife Nahed and for his sons, Ibrahim and John.
The 2022 AWF EMERALD (Europe and Middle East) Regional Conference was the first regional gathering since the 2019 conference in Germany. More than 70 delegates from the region, the wider AWF family and the ICTE (International Commission on Theological Education) attended, along with more than 30 from the hosting national Alliance church.
Rev. Arístides Flores opened his heart to the Lord when he was 15 years old and now has more than 18 years of ministry experience. As president, Rev. Flores wants to consolidate the Alliance in Spain as one family, and through the INFORMA Bible Institute train more leaders for church planting.

AWF Women Ministries continues to be a blessing to our women worldwide. Formed by President Jura Yanagihara to prepare workshops for the 2021 AWF Quadrennial Convocation, this ministry has sought to connect the Alliance family worldwide through women’s ministries. This year, this ministry’s leaders take another step in God’s plan to carry out the Great Commission.
Founded in 1994, the Alliance of Russia (ECMU) focused on church-planting and missionary work from the very start. The Russian C&MA conducts many ministries and wishes to continue growing and expanding God’s kingdom. They ask us to pray for their ministries and international workers during these difficult times.
Rev. Sergey Rybikov has been serving the Lord for 26 years. Now, he is guiding the Russian Alliance forward. He intends to strengthen the prayer culture within their churches, train new ministers and unify the Alliance family in Russia. With this, he plans to rekindle the flames of missionary work in the Russian Alliance.
