The 6th Asia Pacific Alliance Women Conference and Prayer Journey was a powerful, enlightening and victorious encounter. More than 200 women gathered and learned more about the theme “Transformed for the Great Harvest.” Without a doubt, God’s all-surrounding presence was an essential part of this blessed event. Let us praise the Lord for all He has done!

“Transformed for the Great Harvest” was the theme of the 6th Asia Pacific Alliance Women Conference and Prayer Journey in Cebu City, Cebu, Philippines, November 14-18, 2019. The 216 delegates came from nine countries of the Asia Pacific Alliance Churches (APAC Region) and said the event was filled with celebration and victory.

They said they were overwhelmingly blessed by both the diversity and solidarity of being a worldwide Alliance family. The lecturers talked about who the women should aim to be, so they are transformed and prepared for the Great Harvest: A woman whose authority is anchored in God’s Word, a woman of a deep passion for prayer, a woman who is anointed and empowered by the Holy Spirit.

After the in-house conference, the participants were sent to three different islands of the central Philippines (Siquijor, Bohol, and Cebu). They traveled by land and sea to locations strategically chosen because of their resistance to the gospel. In those places the Christian and Missionary Alliance of the Philippines (CAMACOP) churches are few, and witchcraft and other spiritual bondages are common. Each of the groups sent was hosted by a local Alliance church.

The trip had many adventures and blessed experiences. One group collected and gave financial assistance to the church-planting building project of the host church. The team leader said, “God is truly a God of conviction and transformation! During my preaching in the Bethel Christian Church this morning (Nov. 17, 2019), the Holy Spirit spoke to the hearts of missionaries from Borneo, Papua, and Indonesia to donate Php 7,433.00 (US$ 150) for the building construction of the said church. Glory to God in the highest!”

Another delegate testified that she shared the gospel with a van driver and he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord. She found out that the owner of the van is a Christian.

Another highlight of the event was the election of the new APAW committee. We praise God for the well-organized election, and for the people whom God has chosen to lead the Asia Pacific Alliance Women for the next four years.

Missions Night

Of course, as part of the Alliance DNA, Missions Night was proudly celebrated with a missionary parade, missions challenge, and different foods from various regions. The night was also graced by the encouraging testimonial of the Vietnamese missionary couple sent to Thailand, whom the APAW is faithfully supporting. That night, the APAW collected about US$ 1,000 for the motorbike needed by the couple in their expanded ministry area among the Vietnamese-Thai in the province of Mukdahan, northeast of Thailand.

During the first night, the APAW women took on the challenge given by Rev. Eduardo Cajes, the CAMACOP President, to help those who had been affected by the recent earthquake that destroyed several Alliance Churches and left some members homeless. The amount collected was about US$ 750.

We thank the Lord for all that He has done before, during, and after the conference. We are sure that His name was glorified, and His Word was shared with as many souls as possible. Please pray for many more such gatherings in the future and the success of the women’s efforts.
