Rev. Sergey Rybikov has been serving the Lord for 26 years. Now, he is guiding the Russian Alliance forward. He intends to strengthen the prayer culture within their churches, train new ministers and unify the Alliance family in Russia. With this, he plans to rekindle the flames of missionary work in the Russian Alliance.
Rev. Sergey Rybikov is the newly elected president of the Russian Alliance (ECMU). Born in 1964 in Siberia and raised in southern Russia since he was four, he and seven siblings grew up in the Baptist church that his parents attended. Sergey came to Jesus when he was 14 and was baptized at 17. Later, as he finished his secular studies, God called him to pastoral ministry. He was ordained in 1995 at the age of 31. He married Lyubov in 1987 and they have three married children and two grandchildren.
Rev. Rybikov received formal training as a mechanic and has a bachelor’s degree in sociology. He has pastored five churches, and from 2002-2009 he was the rector of Donetsk Christian University. In May 2021, he was elected president of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Russia for a four-year term.
Pastor Sergey hopes to strengthen the prayer life, develop the ECMU’s public relations and media presence, unify the churches and develop a youth and a women ministry. He also plans on renewing and solidifying their missionary vision.
The location change and moving were hard for Sergey’s wife, Lyubov. Rev. Rybikov asks us to pray for his family and their spiritual growth and involvement with the church. He also asks us to pray for God’s discernment and guidance, so he may serve as best he can. Please pray also for the ECMU’s evangelism and missionary ministries, so they can continue to be used by God to touch the lives of people around the world.
