Meet Noel N’Guessan Kouadio, the new President of the C&MA Church of Côte d’Ivoire

May 17, 2019

Reverend Noel N’Guessan Kouadio is the new President of the C&MA Church of Côte d’Ivoire, and is part of the third generation of his family to serve God through the Christian and Missionary Alliance. His vision is to see God’s glory restored within the Alliance, across the world and in his country.

Noel N’Guessan Kuoadio was born in the heart of Côte d’Ivoire, the place where the C&MA ministry began in that country. His decision to accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior was made at a young age due to the death of a close friend. The pastor says, “I had a strong feeling that I was far from God and that this death could have been mine.” Following N’Guessan’s conversion, God called him to full-time work. He is the third generation in his family to serve our Lord.

That was when his ministry started. After theological studies at the Biblical Institute of the Christian Alliance of Côte d’Ivoire, Rev. N’Guessan served as a pastor for many years. Later, he obtained a master’s degree in theology at the University of Evangelical Theology of the Christian Alliance (Faculté de Théologie Evangélique de l’Alliance Chrétienne – FATEAC) in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

After having taught a few years at this Institution, N’Guessan went to France for a Thesis of Doctorate in Theology at the Free University of Evangelical Theology of Vaux-sur-Seine (Faculté Libre de Théologie Evangélique de Vaux-sur-Seine – FLTE). He currently teaches at the University of the Christian Alliance of Abidjan (UACA), where he also acts as the head of the Theology Department.

Rev. N’Guessan has been married to Aimée-Chantal N’Guessan for 23 years. Together they have five children: two daughters – a 20-year-old and a 16-year-old – and three sons – an 8-year-old, a 12-year-old, and an 18-year-old.

Rev. N’Guessan was elected president of the C&MA Church of Côte d’Ivoire at the 43rd Conference of the church on March 16, 2019, by the 900 delegates present. He will be in office for the next four years, after which he could be re-elected.

Rev. N’Guessan believes that “the Church exists to worship God, to train His members and to turn to the lost world”, and it is the pastor’s prayer and hope that God will use the church to achieve these three goals and to live again the gospel in its fullness.

He asks us to pray that he may balance his duties and responsibilities as president with his family life. He also asks us to pray for God to help him remain ready with his heart to be a great source of blessing for the church. As for the church, he asks us to pray that it will adore the Lord in spirit and in truth, and that it may transform its members into disciples of Jesus Christ to be passionate about the salvation of lost souls.
