The work in Ecuador began 120 years ago through the efforts of Guillermo Fritz and Eduardo Tarbox. Later, missionaries Homero Crisman and Guillermo Reed joined in the work. The national C&MA was established in 1945. Today, the church celebrates the 120th year of work in Ecuador, grateful for God’s sustaining at each step. The church remains completely committed to continuing the task to see societal renewal in Ecuador, and to forging and forming generations that shine for God’s glory.
The C&MA of Ecuador has various ministries:
- National Department of World Missions of the C&MA (DNMM-ACyM) seeks to channel the national churches’ resources to cross-cultural missionary work; in particular, to send missionaries to the least reached peoples of the 10/40 window providing both spiritual and economic support from the churches.
- National Council of Theological Education (CONADET) is responsible for the administration and running of the Alliance Biblical Seminary of Ecuador and is supervised by the National Board.
- Christian Education Department serves local churches through the training of teachers, discipleship, evangelism and the provision of children’s materials.
- Evangelism Department is responsible for promoting evangelism through the distribution of materials and various events.
- Communications Department serves the church through technology, creating new information channels to strengthen communication between national ministries, departments, local churches and congregations.
- Associations:
– National Association of Evangelical Youth (ANJE) works with local churches and their youth ministries.
– Ecuadorian National Women’s Association (ANAFE) works with local churches and their women’s ministries.
The Alliance in Ecuador is divided into six regions which carry out the plans of the national church.
Prayer Points:
- Pray for unity within the national church.
- Pray for more missionaries to be sent to the field.
- Pray for the National Board of Directors as they carry out their ministry.
