AWF CLA (Latin America) Regional Conference in Argentina

October 10, 2018

The Symposium of Alliance Theology made its debut at the AWF CLA (Latin America) Region in Argentina last month.

Topics at the symposium included “Christ is the Fourfold Gospel,” “Experiencing Deeper Life” and “Alliance and Missions.” Main speakers were Dr. Bernie A. Van De Walle, chair of the AWF-ICTE (International Commission on Theological Education), and Dr. Ronald Walborn, a member of the AWF-ICTE. The lecture notes, that were translated to Spanish, were distributed to the participants and are available upon request ([email protected]).

The Symposium of Alliance Theology will be part of all AWF Regional Conferences from now on.

With the theme “Alliance Theology and Thought”, the Regional Conference of the AWF CLA (Latin America) Region took place in Mar del Plata, Argentina, from September 24 to 28, and brought together 164 participants from 13 Latin American countries.

A historic moment was the signing of the partnership agreement between the Alliance Theological Seminary (ATS), represented by its dean Dr. Ron Walborn, and FATELA (Facultad Teológica Latinoamericana Alianza), represented by its rector, Dr. Miguel Palomino. The new partnership will provide an accredited Spanish Doctor of Ministry (DMin) program in Latin America for the leaders of the Christian and Missionary Alliance and other like-minded denominations.

There were also testimonies from the mission fields in Africa and Asia, lectures on Church Planting, reports from the Alliance Bible Seminaries in Latin America, as well as workshops on Children Spirituality and Emerging Generations.

The next AWF CLA Regional Conference will be held in Guatemala, from September 23-27, 2019.
