Beloved Alliance Family,

With hearts filled with gratitude and hope, we greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. The response from our global Alliance family concerning the upcoming 2025 Quadrennial has deeply moved and encouraged us. Your prayers, enthusiasm, and dedication to journeying together testify vividly to the strength and unity of our Alliance family.

Today, we share an important update, made with prayerful discernment and a profound sense of responsibility. After careful evaluation of external factors—specifically, the current national context and associated security concerns in the Democratic Republic of Congo—the AWF Executive Committee has decided to relocate the 2025 Quadrennial. It will now be held in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire, on the original dates of October 8-12.

To our dear brothers and sisters in the Democratic Republic of Congo we offer our heartfelt appreciation and deepest respect. Your extraordinary dedication, tireless preparation, and servant-hearted devotion have been an inspiration. This decision solely responds to conditions beyond your control. We stand together in solidarity and prayer, confident that God will continue to do great things through his Church in Congo.

As we shift our gaze to Yamoussoukro, our excitement grows for the unique opportunity to gather once again on the African continent. Africa occupies a cherished and foundational place in our movement’s history. When our founder, A.B. Simpson, first sent missionaries overseas, Africa was their pioneering destination. From these humble beginnings, a powerful and vibrant African Alliance family has blossomed, exemplifying faith, perseverance, and passion for the gospel.

Though our venue has changed, our core mission remains steadfast: to journey deeper in Christ, extend beyond in mission, and do so together as one united global family. The 2025 Quadrennial in Yamoussoukro promises to be a landmark celebration, highlighting God’s magnificent works in and through Africa, reaffirming our commitment to unity, renewal, and a shared vision for the future.

“Complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.” (Philippians 2:2 – NIV).

Let us embrace this powerful exhortation from the Apostle Paul as we prepare for our gathering. Unity of vision and heart strengthens our witness, multiplies our impact, and glorifies Christ in all we do. As we approach the 2025 Quadrennial, let our prayer be that our hearts and minds align deeply with Christ’s purposes. May our unity inspire boldness, encourage deeper fellowship, and compel us to carry the gospel further together. Our shared vision—rooted in love and focused on mission—is not only our strength but also our joy, reflecting the very heart of God to a watching world.

Thank you for your unwavering support and prayers. We joyfully anticipate this transformational gathering and eagerly await meeting together in Africa.

In Christ’s hope and joy,

Jura Yanagihara
