The Alliance church in Spain began in 1978 by Fred and Ann Kowalchuk, missionaries sent out from the U.S. Alliance. The early years were difficult, with five congregations being reduced to three. A relay team ministered from 1993 to 1994, and the focus changed from Barcelona to Madrid.
From 1996 to 2006, the three churches grew due to a large influx of migrants from Latin America.
By 2007, the churches had become a federation, the Federation of Churches of the Christian and Missionary Alliance of Spain (FIACME). Now there are 30 member and associate churches. The current national president of the Alliance in Spain is Jorge Álvarez.
National Ministries:

- The College of Prayer International and its three campuses

Prayer Points:
- Thank God for the baptisms and conversions in the churches, as well as the initiative taken to establish national ministries.
- Thank God for the diversity of pastors and member churches. Pray that differing models of government and philosophy can work well together.
- Thank God for the conversions of many Latin Americans. Pray for the local Spanish people – for the spiritual strongholds to be broken down.
