AWF Executive Committee End of Year Message 2019

December 18, 2019

In a year that was marked by civil demonstrations in many parts of the world, from Hong Kong to Santiago, Beirut, Paris, La Paz, Lima and Barcelona, there is a diffuse agenda but one clear message: people are hungry for justice, freedom and dignity.

This is the same year that we celebrate the centennial anniversary of the passing of Albert Benjamin Simpson. The world has changed dramatically since our movement started more than 130 years ago. How would the founder of our movement live Christ and proclaim Christ if he were alive today? He would use his missional mindset and his missionary heart.

The Global Alliance Family is growing. Now, we are present in 88 countries. The membership of National Alliance Churches ranges from one thousand to one million. We are diverse but we are united with one common root and one common vision.

The ministry of the Alliance World Fellowship has focused on strengthening the Alliance identity and on encouraging missions to the most unreached and unengaged people groups on the Earth. Many times, doing missions requires providing basic needs since many of those we aim to reach for Christ live in the poorest parts of the world. Many times, doing missions requires creativity and boldness since many of those we aim to reach for Christ live in the most closed and oppressive countries of the world.

You should be assured that our Global Christian and Missionary Alliance Family is doing exactly this, with love, grace, boldness, creativity, passion and compassion.

Now, more than ever, we are called by God to be a prophetic voice to the world, to proclaim the salvation and the transformation that Jesus Christ brings to all nations.

This task is not for a few of us, this is for all of us.

Thank you for being part of this movement of God through your ministry, your prayers, your donations, your life!

Have a most blessed Christmas!
