Ángel was elected in September 2022 for a five-year term, starting in February 2023. He cannot hold back his enthusiasm for his new role with the Alliance, and he is looking forward to seeing new generations meet Jesus. Sixty-seven years ago, a baby was born in a remote indigenous tribe in the Peruvian Amazon. The mother, at the moment of giving birth, dug a hole and buried him alive. At that precise moment, the chief of the tribe appeared providentially, rescuing him from certain death.

Each country has its own way of observing these holidays. For the AWF Women’s Ministries, this was the first time that we celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas with Alliance women around the world.
When I got an invitation to write and perform a short portrayal of the life of Mary, the mother of Jesus, for the AWF Women’s Ministry Thanksgiving and Christmas event, I was a bit overwhelmed. I was very busy at that time, and declined the opportunity, not even asking God for direction. But the Lord had other plans.
