Members of the AWF Executive Committee and Global Network of Missions Leaders
More National Alliance Churches are sending missionaries cross-culturally using many creative ways, following God’s mandate to proclaim Christ to all nations.
The AWF Global Network of Missions Leaders met in Senegal (July 27th and 28th) to share how the national churches they represent have been led by God to engage in Missions. Discerning together God’s direction for our missionary movement has been a wonderful collective experience for the 19 participants of the meeting. The strengthening of contextualized training programs for missionary candidates was identified as a common need for all AWF regions. The implications of the diaspora phenomena to the missionary work were also discussed and some practical steps were proposed to enhance cooperation between national churches in this area. Various expressions of the missionary work such as marketplace/tentmaking, business as missions, multi-ethnic international churches, were also discussed. All those topics are part of the agenda for further discussions and prayers as the Network’s participants continue to interact. The next meeting of the AWF Global Network of Missions Leaders will take place in Wiesbaden, near Frankfurt, Germany, on April 28 and 29, 2019.
