Discussions and decisions during the annual AWF ExCom meeting reinforced the mandate of AWF to strengthen the Alliance identity of the member national churches and their pastors and to support partnership projects in missions.

The AWF Executive Committee (ExCom) held its annual meeting in Dakar, Senegal, from July 23rd to 26th. The most important decisions are listed below:

  • AWF ExCom will send representatives to visit churches with connections with the Christian and Missionary Alliance in South Korea and Nepal to discuss membership and cooperation.
  • All AWF Regional Conferences in 2018 and 2019 will include a Symposium of Alliance Theology and History in its main program. This initiative is part of the effort to strengthen our Alliance identity.
  • AWF ExCom adopted the concept and launched the Strategic Project Fund to seed good Kingdom impacting projects. Proposals from Asia-Pacific, Europe and Middle East and Latin America were approved. Fund-rising initiatives will be intensified.
  • The theme of the 2020 AWF Quadrennial Convocation is “Going Deep & Going Beyond”. It will take place at the Sheraton Guayaquil Hotel, starting with dinner on October 20th and finishing with the Sunday Service on October 25th. Potential speakers and workshop leaders will be contacted for further planning.
  • Guidelines for partnership in Missions were discussed to enhance synergy and accountability.
  • The next AWF ExCom meeting will take place in Wiesbaden, near Frankfurt, Germany, April 25-27, 2019.
