Praise the Lord for the overwhelmingly good news from the Sudanese Alliance Church! Despite the challenges they face, our brothers and sisters are thriving under our God’s blessings. Let us pray that they continue to have the strength, wisdom, and faith to keep growing.
In 2020, the EMERALD (Europe and the Middle East) Region sent a pastor newly prepared by the AWF Young Scholar program to North Africa, giving birth to the Sudanese Alliance Fellowships. Although they face many challenges, our brothers and sisters have persevered. Their faith in our Savior is bringing positive results. They have successfully continued translating the Bible, they have consecrated new workers, and their members have continued to grow in faith.
The Sudanese Alliance recently trained and ordained four new elders. After much prayer and fasting, the men sat before the church. The leaders prayed and explained to the members that God guided them to choose these four men to serve as elders. The next moments were of beautiful testimonies and tears. Men and women told stories of how each of the candidates was a man of God.
“After a good hour and more of sharing by virtually everyone,” said one of the leaders, “I had only heard positive affirmation, and no fault or hindrance was found or attested by anyone in regard to these men.” After that, the church officially consecrated the four. It was a great victory after four years of hard work and preparation.
Another great news report is the birth of Momen. The baby boy’s parents chose his name, which means in Arabic “believer,” to identify Christ’s presence in his life. Momen’s birth brought great joy to their community. Please pray for the family’s health and well-being. The mother needs urgent dental care.
The Sudanese Alliance asks us to continue praying for their translation of the Bible. It is going very well right now. So far, they have four teams of eight men. New books are being finished, and they made a lively Bible storybook in the Sudanese language.
Let us pray that the Sudanese Alliance Fellowships continue to grow in wisdom and faith. Also, pray for them to overcome any challenges they are facing, so that they may continue to spread the word of God to their own people.
