Founded in 1994, the Alliance of Russia (ECMU) focused on church-planting and missionary work from the very start. The Russian C&MA conducts many ministries and wishes to continue growing and expanding God’s kingdom. They ask us to pray for their ministries and international workers during these difficult times.
In the midst of intense political and social changes, the Alliance in Russia (ECMU) began in 1994 as a mission ministry with a church-planting vision. From the get-go, there was an established partnership with the international C&MA. More than 40 missionaries from the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, Chile and other countries worked together in Russian territory.
In 2002, the Alliance and the ECMU launched a project to reach the northern cities, resulting in churches in Moscow, St. Petersburg and other towns in the European part of Russia. In 2008 the ECMU became an official member of the AWF.
Currently, the ECMU operates the Kuban Evangelical Christian University, a place where new leaders are trained. They conduct a children’s summer camp called “Mountain Springs” on the shore of the Black Sea. They also have a Christian bookstore, “Harmony,” and a rehabilitation ministry with three rehab centers. Their international workers are serving in India, Nepal, Bulgaria, Ghana and Israel.
Rev. Sergey Rybikov, the ECMU president since May 2021, asks us to pray for God’s guidance and wisdom to continue developing their evangelism and mission ministry. Pray also for a better dialogue and partnership with other denominations, to unify the evangelical movement in Russia. May the Lord help them renew and solidify their ministries.
