Seventy-five women from five AWF regions attended the AWF Global Network of Alliance Women’s virtual gathering on June 9, 2021. Thanks to our Heavenly Father, it was a success and a blessing! Pray that this ministry reaches even more women across our global family.
The AWF Global Network of Alliance Women started in 2020 when AWF President Jura Yanagihara invited a group of national and regional women leaders from all over the world to prepare women’s workshops for our 2020 AWF Quadrennial Convocation.
Initially, the Alliance Women’s Committee met once a month through Zoom to discuss the workshops. Even after the pandemic hit, postponing the Quadrennial, these godly women continued to work hard. They saw the need to unite the women of our global Alliance family. In May 2021, the committee decided to reach out to women in other regions and countries.
The AWF Global Network of Alliance Women held an online meeting June 9. The gathering was attended by 75 women from the five AWF regions. The women are leaders in their local churches, regional and national ministries. Despite different time zones, locations, languages, and some internet connection issues, the event was a breakthrough!
Sister Nadia Aries of Chile gave them a wonderful challenge. She said, “We are living the Kairos time! It is the time that God made for us to cast nets and look at the fields that are ready for harvest. Let us not stop! God will use each of us to impact our city, community, country, region, and beyond!”
The women felt motivated and excited. Two ladies from Canada admitted to having missed fellowship among women. Another was overjoyed to see five of her regional team leaders participating. One sister said that “through prayer for the unreached people groups, and the needs in every region, God has united our hearts and our vision in one mission: to be witnesses of God’s love to others and share what he has been doing in our lives!”
Eunice Lumawag, the leader of this network, stated, “Personally, I am motivated and excited to know and see what God has prepared for all of us women in partnership with AWF ministries. And, at the same time, how the Lord would expand this ministry as we connect with each other. Maybe God will expand our territory for mission work, prayer, marketplace business, giving, evangelism and discipleship, and so much more! This is what I firmly stand on: that God will accomplish the purpose he has for all Alliance women. Ephesians 2:10 says, ‘For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.’”
Praise the Lord for this incredible opportunity! Pray that this ministry continues to reach many more Alliance women.
