One Hundred Twenty Pastors and Leaders of the AWF Asia Pacific Region participate in the C&MA Distinctives Seminar this Week

March 17, 2021

To strengthen the Alliance DNA throughout the churches of the AWF Asia Pacific Region, the International Commission on Theological Education (ICTE) is conducting the C&MA Distinctives Webinar from March 16-19, 2021.

The C&MA Distinctives Webinar runs from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM Jakarta time each day (March 16-19). This webinar covers a range of topics related to the history and thought of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. Open to Alliance leaders, educators, and official workers, this webinar is helping participants gain a fresh understanding of what it means to be a part of this global movement. In the first two days, more than 120 participants from Australia, Cambodia, France, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mongolia, Nepal, New Zealand and the Philippines attended the webinar.

The program covers the following topics: Living a Tradition & Life of Simpson, Early Beginnings of the C&MA, Work of the C&MA, Missions, Fourfold Gospel, Sanctification, Bounded and Centered Sets, Divine Healing, and Living as the Alliance Today. Dr. Peter Laughlin, chairman of the AWF ICTE, is responsible for most of the lectures. Pr. David Paksoal, one of the participants in the 2019 AWF Young Scholars program, is presenting two of the topics.

The benefit of attending these events was highlighted recently when the participants of the 2019 Young Scholars C&MA Distinctives class gathered virtually to reconnect and reflect on the past 18 months. The scholars discussed the importance of understanding our heritage and how such a foundation can help us today.

The ICTE is looking forward to hosting similar C&MA Distinctives Webinars/Seminars in other regions. Another AWF Young Scholars event in person will be scheduled as soon as it is practical for us to do so.
