Meet Jorge Alvarez Villarreal, the new President of the C&MA Church of Spain

March 26, 2019

With around 20 years of ministerial experience and dedication to God’s work, Jorge Alvarez Villarreal is the new president of the C&MA Church of Spain.

Jorge Alvarez Villarreal was born in Chimbote, Peru, and decided to accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior at the age of 15, when he joined the local Alliance church. He married Milagros Valdéz in 2002. They have a small daughter, Arvella, who was born in 2014.

In 2010, Jorge was called to be an assistant pastor to the senior pastor, and in 2012 he was elected as the senior pastor. The couple and their daughter moved to Barcelona in 2017 to work as missionaries sent by their respective churches.

At the age of 19, the reverend entered a biblical seminar and began his pastoral ministry when he was 24 years old in the church of Trujillo, Peru. At first, he worked with teenagers, but soon after he began leading 10 small groups in the region and raising more groups. When he was 31, he traveled to Spain as a missionary, believing that God was calling him to “support the church in Spain”. After a time of conflict within the Alliance of Spain, he was appointed as a candidate for the presidency of the Spanish Alliance.

He will be acting as president of the Christian and Missionary Alliance of Spain until February of 2022. His goal for the three years of management will be drawn up from interviews with each pastor of the Alliance. They will look for the three most important needs of the Alliance which will be set as the three main objectives of his presidency.

Rev. Alvarez asks us to pray for the unity of the church, its growth, leadership, and ministries, and especially for the churches’ youth, that they may be unwavering in their faith and dedication to the Lord.
