As part of the AWF Global Response to COVID-19, we ask the pastors of local Alliance churches that sponsor Relief Projects to answer the Relief Project Questionnaire by May 31, 2020. We are praying that the information we receive will help AWF to strengthen the hands of those at work in ways that are meaningful, productive, and sow seeds of witness to the love of God in Christ.
The COVID-19 pandemic is providing the Church with tremendous opportunity to express the care and compassion of God for the whole person. Caring for peoples’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs is a directive for God’s people expressed throughout the whole biblical narrative. As we think through tangible ways of loving our neighbor may we be motivated with this Scriptural mandate that Jesus taught with the Good Samaritan parable.
The AWF Executive Committee along with a smaller group of relief and development practitioners from Canada, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, the Philippines, and the US are working to organize a Global Response to COVID-19, as you may be following through the AWF website and social media.
To organize the next steps of this effort, the AWF Relief and Development Office is collecting data about relief efforts of Alliance churches as they respond to COVID-19 in their respective communities. The Relief Project Questionnaire is to be filled by the pastors of local Christian and Missionary Alliance Churches that sponsor Relief Projects to provide specific information about each project. The Relief Project Questionnaire can be easily filled by clicking here.
The information collected will be consolidated by the AWF Relief and Development Office and sent to the National Church Presidents as part of the analysis and decision processes.
We ask you to respond to these questionnaires as soon as possible, but before May 31 so that we can discuss the projects during the National Alliance Church Presidents Meetings that are scheduled from June 1 to 4.
