Latin American Women’s Conference AMADA 5 – Assured in Times of Crisis

July 21, 2021

With more than 3,500 women present, the AMADA 5 virtual conference held on June 26, 2021 brought a message of hope, comfort, and strength. The speaker, Débora Steffens Fanderwud, used 2 Corinthians 4:7-10 to talk about the church’s situation and women’s role during the pandemic. Thanks to our Lord and Savior, the event was a blessing and a success. May God continue to guide and bless this beautiful women’s ministry in the Latin American region.

AMADA is a ministry focused on the women of the Latin American Alliance Fellowship (CLA). It began in 2009 to revive God’s calling for women. Twelve years later, this ministry continues to touch the lives of thousands of women across Latin America. This year, on June 26, they held their very first virtual conference, AMADA 5. Although Argentina was the host country, the event took place exclusively online due to the pandemic. More than 3,500 women from 25 countries attended the conference. The speaker was Débora Steffens Fanderwud. She is the wife of Rev. Daniel Fanderwud, president of the Christian and Missionary Alliance of Argentina. Débora is a Christian educator and trainer.

The conference’s theme this year was “Assured in Times of Crisis.” God guided her to talk about 2 Corinthians 4:7-10, highlighting three practical principles to feel secure in times of crisis:

  1. What are you building your life on? Let us build our life on the rock that is Christ (Matthew 7:24).
  2. What attracted you to Jesus? Where is your heart now? Let us go back to our first love (Revelation 2:4).
  3. Are you willing to pay the price to have intimacy with Christ? Be prepared to live assuredly (Matthew 25:9-13).

Sister Isabel Freire de Muthre, the leader of the AMADA organizing team, said, “Beloved Alliance family, we are sure that God has been glorified in this beautiful time. He has spoken to our hearts. It is important to remember Débora’s words: ‘Times of crisis will bring out the best and the worst in us.’”

The AMADA ministry thanks the Lord for this successful event. God truly spoke to each woman, and they felt connected to each other in a way they had missed feeling.

Praise our Lord and Savior for this blessed meeting. Pray that God continues to use the AMADA ministry to make his kingdom grow.

The conference is available on CLA’s Facebook page for those interested.
