AWF Quadrennial Convocation Confirmed for October 19-24, 2021 in Ecuador

April 29, 2021

The AWF Executive Committee has confirmed the AWF Quadrennial Convocation for October 19-24, 2021 in Ecuador. The meeting will be held at the Central Milagro Alliance Church, in a city adjacent to Guayaquil. Please pray for all the necessary preparations for a Spirit-filled, dynamic and safe gathering with participants from all over the world.

After prayerfully considering the various options and the feedback from the online survey, the AWF Executive Committee (ExCom) has decided that the AWF Quadrennial Convocation should be conducted as previously planned. The survey showed that most leaders consider the in-person gathering essential for the objectives of the Quadrennial. All morning and evening services will be live-streamed and recorded for those who cannot attend in person.

The city of Milagro is 45 km from Guayaquil, where the international airport and the main international hotels are located. The international guests will be able to stay in Guayaquil and use the conference shuttles that will connect the hotels and the church campus. The conference venue can hold many simultaneous meetings and the main sanctuary has a seating capacity of 1,500, with authorization to conduct social-distanced gatherings of up to 800 people.

Biosafety procedures will be adopted under the supervision of a specialist. All attendees should either be vaccinated or have a negative COVID-19 test result. In fact, this is the requirement to enter Ecuador by air travel, so these participants will be exempted from the tests. COVID-19 tests will be required of all other participants at no cost.

The registration website will be reopened soon. The registration fee remains at US $425.

The Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Ecuador, under the leadership of President Rev. David Muthre, is mobilizing many volunteers to prepare for and conduct the AWF Quadrennial Convocation. Please pray for the members of the many working committees who have been preparing for more than two years so that each participant can have a most blessed and transformational spiritual experience.

A quote from a letter from Rev. Brem Frentz, secretary of the AWF ExCom, describes well where we stand now: “Thank you for your faithfulness to serve God’s kingdom purposes and the bride of Jesus Christ in such important days of bringing hope to a hurting world. Though our circumstances are challenging, uncertain and even fearful for many across the globe, we serve a God who is not nervous and is sovereignly in control. He remains our rock and our refuge.”
