Rev. Joël Lamah begins his five-year term as president of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Guinea, bringing decades of pastoral leadership, theological training, and a vision for unity, discipleship, and gospel growth.
On May 16, 2026, the Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA) Church of Guinea begun a new season of leadership as Rev. Joël Lamah officially starts his five-year term as president of the national church.
Born in Nzérékoré, in Guinea’s forest region and raised in Yomou in a pastoral family, Rev. Lamah’s life has been shaped by both faith and service from an early age. Although raised in a Christian home, he came to personal faith in Christ in 1973 after his parents explained the message of salvation through Scripture. That moment marked the beginning of a ministry journey that would span decades.
Guinea, a West African nation of more than 14 million people, is known for its ethnic diversity, Islamic majority, and significant social and economic challenges. Christians represent a minority of the population, making the work of the church both important and demanding as it seeks to share the gospel, strengthen believers, and contribute to national stability. In this context, church leadership carries both spiritual and practical value.
Rev. Lamah holds advanced theological training from the Christian Alliance Evangelical Theology Faculty in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, as well as biblical education from the Bible Institute of Télékoro in Guinea. Over more than 20 years, he has served in pastoral ministry, theological education, academic leadership, and national church administration. His ministry has included shepherding local churches, training future pastors, serving as academic director, and dedicating 11 years as administrative secretary of the National Executive Committee.
Now, as he steps into national leadership, Rev. Lamah’s vision focuses on reconciliation, unity, discipleship, resource stewardship, and renewed commitment to the Great Commission. His priorities reflect Guinea’s need for both spiritual growth and organizational strength as the church seeks to remain united while expanding its gospel witness.
“Our goal is to preserve the unity of the church, motivate believers to fulfill the Great Commission, form disciples, and manage resources faithfully for the benefit of the church,” says Rev. Lamah.
This leadership transition comes at an important time for Guinea, where the church continues to serve amid political uncertainty, economic hardship, and the need for stronger evangelical witness. Rev. Lamah’s presidency represents both continuity and renewed focus as the Alliance family in Guinea seeks to strengthen its national ministry for future generations.
Together with his wife, Eliane, and their five children, Rev. Lamah asks the global Alliance family to pray for wisdom, family protection, church unity, leadership strength, and spiritual growth of believers across Guinea.
As Guinea’s national church begins this new chapter, believers around the world are invited to pray that God will use this season to deepen unity, strengthen ministry, and advance the gospel throughout the nation.
