Women Radiating Faith and Resilience at “AMADA Mexico 2024”

November 10, 2024

Guadalajara came alive with faith and fellowship as 241 women from across Latin America gathered for “AMADA Mexico 2024.”

The Latin American Women’s Congress AMADA, September 25-27, 2024, in Guadalajara, Mexico, brought together women eager to grow spiritually, connect with one another, and embrace their roles as lights in their communities.

With the theme “Women Who Radiate,” the event celebrated unity and resilience. From its opening moments—with a mariachi group symbolizing the cultural richness of Mexico—to its closing plenary on embracing God-given femininity, every aspect of the conference pointed participants toward deeper faith and empowered living.

The opening day set the tone with a gathering of leaders and wives of national church presidents, led by Isabel Freire de Muthre, the president of the Latin American Women’s Ministry. This intimate meeting encouraged unity and collaboration, anchored by an inspiring devotional from Sister Lirio de Sovero of Peru. The evening inaugural service brought everyone together, with worship, cultural celebrations, and words of encouragement from regional and global leaders. Pastor David Muthre, the AWF Regional Coordinator for Latin America, shared the congress’s theme, urging women to let their light shine brightly in their families, churches, and communities.

The next two days unfolded as a rich tapestry of learning and connection. Plenary sessions explored topics like maintaining integrity in a troubled world, fostering godly marriages, and finding strength through pain. Practical forums encouraged open dialogue on emotional well-being and decision-making, while cultural moments like the “Creative Hands” session allowed women to bond over crafts from their respective countries.

One of the most moving elements of the conference was the testimonies shared by participants. Women spoke of how they were challenged, comforted, and inspired through worship and teaching.

For many, like Gabriela Muñoz de Padilla of Mexico, the conference was life changing. “God spoke to my heart in every session,” she said. “Whether it was about my relationship with him, my marriage, or my struggles, I felt his guidance and presence.” Gabriela’s experience echoed a sentiment felt by many attendees: this wasn’t just an event but a deeply transformative encounter with God.

The conference ended with an evening of celebration, featuring cultural presentations and heartfelt thanks to the Latin American Women’s Ministry Coordinating Team, speakers, and local organizers. As women returned to their homes, they carried with them a renewed sense of purpose and a commitment to let their light shine brightly in every area of life.

“AMADA Mexico 2024” reflected the strength and faith of Latin American Alliance women and reminded God’s power to unite and transform his people. This gathering will leave a lasting impact, radiating far beyond Guadalajara into churches and communities across the continent.
