Deeper in Christ and Further in Missions in the Asia-Pacific Region

November 13, 2018

National Church leaders from 15 countries of the AWF Asia-Pacific Region (APAC) reassured their spiritual roots and discussed how a Spirit-empowered missionary movement can move forward to fulfill the Great Commission in the present era.

This gathering occurred on October 16-20, 2018, in Manila, Philippines and was hosted by the Christian and Missionary Alliance Churches of the Philippines (CAMACOP) under the leadership of Rev. Bishop Eduardo Cajes Jr. Praise God for sending us this time a total of 166 participants who attended in the said event.

God had so wondrously worked that everyone was blessed. The evening and morning devotions were so profound and powerfully delivered that they empowered, renewed, and refreshed individual lives by God’s unchanging word through His anointed ministers. Rev. David Hearn challenged the audience to go deeper in Christ and further in Missions through the working power of the Holy Spirit.

The Symposium of Alliance Theology, presented by Dr. Bernie Van de Walle, the chairman of the International Commission on Theological Education, added a refreshing dimension and dynamic to the fruitfulness and success of the gathering. A biblically and theologically sound understanding on the Fourfold gospel was carefully presented which created awareness among our Alliance leaders in the region. Added to that, the doctrine of healing was reemphasized to challenge our Alliance movements of its tremendous part in the growth and life of the church as well as in the work of Missions.

The final highlight of the event was the giving of the challenge, not just an awareness to the Alliance family in the region, of taking part of the vision and its fulfillment of the Alliance World Fellowship in its future plans and goals. The Alliance World Fellowship president, Rev. Dr. Jura Yanagihara presented this before the delegates where God is leading AWF in the future.
