As the new President of the National C&MA Church in Venezuela, Reverend Natanael Gil Lamas hopes that God will use him to bring unity, harmony and support to the C&MA churches and ministries in his country.
Born in January of 1950, pastor Natanael Gil Lamas was brought up in a Christian family. His grandparents and parents were firm believers and very active in the Lord’s ministry. He has been married to Evelyn Ampueda de Gil for 43 years, with whom he had three children: Natanael Jr., 40 years old, Rosalyn, 37, and Nathalie, 34.
Rev. Natanael accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at the age of 9 and was baptized when he was 15 years old. From then on, he was constantly involved in the church life. He graduated from the Alliance Bible Institute of Venezuela (Instituto Bíblico Alianza de Venezuela – IBAVEN). He has worked as a teacher, as a Marriage Counselor, Coordinator of Matrimonial meetings and a preacher. On May 26th, 2018, he was elected as president of the C&MA Church of Venezuela.
In the next four years as president, he hopes to help one of their churches that has been facing many problems due to internal divisions. Moreover, he wishes to really unite the 12 C&MA churches in the country. Rev. Natanael also has plans to find different means to support and give assistance to their pastors, especially in this time of crisis that Venezuela is facing.
Venezuela has been going through a very difficult moment in terms of politics, economy and for the gospel. Rev. Natanael describes the country as idolatrous and Satanism and Spiritism have been growing there. They are also facing a critical lack of food and medical supplies such as medicine.
Please pray for the country’s situation. Also pray for the churches, especially their church in Maracay. Ask God to give them the wisdom to overcome the differences and grow in unity. Pray as well for the development of the gospel in Venezuela.
Also pray for Rev. Natanael and his family. His youngest daughter, Nathalie, is in Seville, Spain, and the reverend asks that we pray for her protection and for her to find a good church to congregate. His oldest son, Natanael Jr. and his family have been in Peru for five months now and he asks us to pray for their well-being.
