I met them in Erbil. Both around 30, married since last year and now they share a room with their newborn baby and an 18-year-old niece and their grandparents. No, they cannot complain because they much better of than others who have to share a tent with ten adults. Next month it will get colder and they will face more problems.
The past few days in Erbil and Dohuk were an immersion in human suffering, but there is the other side. On the picture you see the pastor of the Alliance Church in Mosul with his wife. Seven years ago God called them to Mosul, now they had to leave the city in a hurry and leave everything behind. Well, they took pictures with them, like the one they hold in their hands. It shows the local Church in better days. “We are grateful that we can live with Jesus,” they say, and their eyes sparkle while I have to swallow.
Their congregation is dispersed in different cities. Some have found shelter in the Alliance Churches in Erbil and Dohuk. They are involved in the distribution of relief goods to other refugees. In Dohuk mainly to Yezidi families. They are grateful for your prayers.
Please continue to pray for Pastor Sabah, his wife Faiza and dispersed church.
