The Alliance in Germany is focusing its effort to reach Arab speaking immigrants and refugees from Muslim background in Berlin and Koblenz to Christ.
In Berlin, the Lighthouse Ministry was started by Darrell and Cheryl Phenicie, seeking to bring the gospel and God’s love to the Arab community in the city. They have opened similar centers in Lebanon, Jordan, Tunisia and Iraq as international workers sent by the US C&MA. Now the center is led by a Syrian Alliance pastor, George Dakkak, a fairly well-known singer in the Arab Church.
George was a nominal Christian who was brought to a personal encounter with Jesus Christ by an Arab brother with a Muslim background. This led him to love the Muslims and God put in his heart the desire to reach them to Christ. Interesting enough, the people who have recently joined their Sunday Church Service are Iraqi. A believer from a Muslim Shiite background began attending and requested to be baptized.
The ministry in Koblenz is led by Geryes, a Lebanese Alliance pastor, who is helping Kurdish and Arab refugees to find their new identity in Christ. The focus of this ministry are the discipleship groups and prayer meetings that allow them to study the Bible and deepen their personal relationship as Christians and seekers come together to pray.
Let us pray for the pastors and leaders of these ministries as they proclaim Christ to the Arab diaspora in Germany.
