Embark on a journey of spiritual transformation as men from Colombia and the Dominican Republic share inspiring stories from recent National Men’s Alliance Congresses.
From Rivera in Huila to Bogotá and Valencia, in Colombia, and La Vega, in the Dominican Republic witness tales of unwavering faith, miraculous healing, and personal growth. Despite life’s trials, these men found solace and purpose through their ministries. Join us in exploring the impact of narratives shaped by faith, resilience, and divine intervention at these transformative congresses.
In the heart of Colombia, in the serene town of Rivera in Huila, Oscar Marín embarked on a profound journey of spiritual awakening. A licensed Bible and Theology graduate and psychologist, Oscar found himself at a crossroads. After a weekend filled with emotions and powerful messages from renowned preachers, he yearned for a divine encounter.
At the culmination of the event, as ministers laid hands on the congregation, Oscar remained unmoved until the Pastor Director approached him with a life-altering message: “Believe it, Oscar, this word is for you. Believe it …. Listen and speak.” What followed was an overwhelming surge of emotions, a force that seized control of his being, marking a supernatural connection with God. Tears streamed, and jubilant cries filled the air – Oscar had finally encountered God’s voice, a message that ushered him into a new beginning, a new calling, and a new challenge.
The joy that had enveloped Oscar, however, soon turned to sorrow when, fifteen days later, his younger brother died. Yet during this tragedy, God provided comfort and strength. His words, “Alive and effective,” resonated, bringing solace to the grieving family and turning personal, familial, and ministerial promises into reality.
In Valencia, Colombia, Adriano Pérez Babilonia, a leader at the Rivera Alliance church, faced challenges in organizing a journey to Armenia to attend the men’s congress. Despite a grueling 34-hour trip fraught with obstacles, the satisfaction of fulfilling their duty outweighed the hardships. The impact of the conference transformed Adriano, instilling in him a renewed vision for personal growth and leadership. Motivated by the blessings he received, he took on the responsibility of sharing these teachings with the men of the five Alliance churches in Valencia, Córdoba.
Yilber Alexis Valderrama of Córdoba, Santander de Quilichao, found the congress to be an unforgettable encounter with God. The messages that were delivered made a profound impact, emphasizing the responsibility of men in their roles. “The challenge,” he noted, “lies in recognizing the specific position God has granted each man and bearing abundant fruit through constant communion with the Holy Spirit.”
Serving as the coordinator of the Men’s Ministry in Bogotá, Alejandro Salinas Malagón described the congress as a supernatural experience. The event prompted self-improvement in various aspects of his life, urging him to excel as a husband, father, gospel minister, and son of God. His desire to see God work in the ministry he oversees was intensified.
Isidoro Rodríguez Morante, a leader in Bogotá’s Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Suba, shared his profound experience, saying, “Despite economic and logistical challenges, the humility and simplicity of the men I encountered inspired me.” Isidoro’s life took a miraculous turn during the congress, where God healed his shoulder injury, defying medical expectations and canceling his scheduled surgery.
Pastor Ruberney Carabalí leads the National Men’s Alliance Ministry in Colombia and was responsible for organizing the congress. Under the theme “Chosen with Purpose,” 178 men attended the congress, September 22-24, 2023, in Armenia. The focus on topics like “The Priority of Remaining in Christ” left a lasting impact, as conveyed by the national president of the Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA) in Colombia, Rev. Esnilder Popó.
Franklin Rosario leads the National Men’s Ministry in the Dominican Republic, a movement dedicated to motivating men through church visits, encouragement, and regional prayer and fasting retreats. The goal is to inspire not only men but the entire church to continue God’s work.
The Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA) in the Dominican Republic dreams of reaching more men for God, as exemplified by a recent congress themed “Passionate for Christ” held in La Vega, October 20-23, 2023, with more than 200 men attending.
The men’s ministry is actively engaged in projects, with a plan to build a hospital and a preparation center for children and youth so they can learn livelihood skills in one of the communities where the gospel is being preached. The work, involving young people, children, and women, is organized by districts to reach every location to be a blessing to men, instilling in them values that will enable them to continue leading their families with the grace and love of God, thereby blessing their wives and children. Their vision is to motivate the church to continue with its evangelistic and missionary work while reaching out to other men for the advancement of the Kingdom of God.
Among the topics discussed were responsibilities at home, focusing on the main theme, “Passionate for Christ.” The national president, Rev. Ernesto Rosa, views this ministry as a blessing, hoping it continues to bear fruit and bless men, families, local churches, and the nation. The dream is to passionately pursue and transform the lives of men for the glory of God.
