Reverend Marcel Bunda Bunda is the new President of the Alliance in DR Congo. During his term, he hopes to see the church become more mission-oriented and living a prayer-filled life. Let us pray that the Lord will send His Holy Spirit to guide him and his family.
Born on the 13th of December, 1966, in Kuimba, Rev. Marcel Bunda Bunda is the new president of the Alliance in the Democratic Republic of Congo. His father was the senior pastor of the 18th CEAC (Communauté Evangélique de l’Alliance au Congo – Evangelical Community of the Alliance in Congo), so Marcel was brought up in the C&MA family. Rev. Bunda married Alphonsine Phambu Puna in 1990, and they have six children – five daughters and a son.
Marcel accepted our Lord and Savior in 1984, during a Bible study led by Reverend Thomás Bankamba on Matthew 10:39. From then on, he began learning more and more about God’s Word. In 1987, Marcel began his theological studies at the Faculté de Théologie Evangélique de Boma (Faculty of Evangelical Theology of Boma). Later, from 2003-2005, he continued to pursue even more theological knowledge at the Université Protestante au Congo (Protestant University in Congo).
Rev. Bunda began serving as a pastor in Mboma Niali in the Ndingi district. He was elected by the delegation representatives at the General Assembly and will be serving the Nation Church for the next four years.
During this time, Rev. Bunda wishes to see the church’s love for mission growing. He also hopes to reinforce a life of prayer and of service to God and His people. Rev. Bunda is planning on renovating some of the church’s infrastructures, such as the central office and the meeting auditorium. By the end of his term, he hopes to have established the church in a place of visibility and influence in their country.
Rev. Bunda asks us to pray so that the Holy Spirit may guide him, his family, and the ministry to be a blessing for all of God’s people. He also asks that we pray for the members of the 18th CEAC, so that they may all be moved by the Lord’s Spirit and bless others.
