The C&MA of Myanmar has a new president, Rev. Lal Duh Chuanga, who diligently served as a pastor for 19 years before his election. He plans to dedicate himself to planting churches in at least 20 villages among the Burmese, Karen, and Mizo/Chin people.
Born in 1975, Rev. Chuanga is the eldest of two children born to his parents. It wouldn’t be until years later, in 1993, that he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior, thanks to the grace of our loving God. Three years later, he began his theological studies and received his bachelor’s degree in theology in 1999. In May of that year, shortly after his graduation, Rev. Chuanga was appointed as pastor in the C&MA of Myanmar. He then began his ministry in the Tuingo village’s C&MA.
In 2000, Pastor Chuanga married Hming Than Tluangi, a God-fearing woman who often helped him and his ministry. Together, they had a son, Samuel Lal Hun Ruata.
Rev. Chuanga will be directing and leading many ministries in the C&MA. Among them are the Women’s Ministry and the Children’s Ministry. Their church is passionate about the Great Commission, and their ministries reflect that through prayers and contributions that come, for example, from the women’s annual rally.
The C&MA of Myanmar is hoping to send more missionaries, plant more churches, and see many souls come to Christ. They ask us to pray for their projects and ministries.
Rev. Chuanga asks that we pray for the church’s spiritual, physical, and material growth. He also asks that we pray that God would continue to shower them with wisdom and blessings, so that His glory may shine through the C&MA of Myanmar.
