From March 26th to 28th, the Confraternidad Latinoamericana Aliancista (CLA) met in Ecuador to develop the next 4-year regional action plan. Present were CLA members Pastor Mario Pérez, the Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA) President from Peru, Alex Fajardo from the C&MA Colombia and Pastor Felipe Fierro, the C&MA President in Chile.
During their time in Ecuador, the team had the opportunity to visit various C&MA churches. “Our time in Ecuador has been such a blessing, but above all an exciting challenge, to see how the churches here in each of their unique contexts continue to grow. It has been a joy to experience God’s presence in every service and see the passion of the leaders and members of the church for God’s work,” commented Pastor Mario Pérez, the President of the Alliance Church in Perú.
In these meetings, the team also set the program for the CLA Conference that will take place in September. The event aims to further unify Latin America through community and fellowship, while also highlighting the importance of missions and world evangelism, maintaining the God-given desire of the Alliance Church founder. The event is scheduled for September 25-29 in Temuco, Chile.
Pastor Felipe Fierro, the Chile C&MA President and host of the next CLA Conference told us: “We already have a logistics team working to organize the event, and prepare for those coming from inside and outside of the country, to ensure the smoothest possible event. Our church has the knowledge and capacity, and we are all very excited for the opportunity to host.”
Speaking of the CLA Conference, Alex Fajardo, the C&MA representative from Colombia expressed that, “it is our hope to inspire many to pursue missions and to remember our Alliance identity, the example that God gave us through the life of Albert Benjamin Simpson and the passion that we as a church have to see the Gospel preached where it has never before been preached.”
The CLA will continue to finish up last minute details for this event and others that are coming up in the next couple months, working from Ecuador, the C&MA Latin America headquarters.
