23 January, 2019

In the May issue of the AWF News (100 Years of God’s Light Shining in Guinea) we told a little of the story of the Alliance Church in Guinea and their joy and excitement for the celebration of the church’s Centennial in January 2019.

The Alliance Church of Guinea, known as the Evangelical Protestant Church of Guinea (EPEG), will be completing a total of 100 years in January 2019 and to celebrate this milestone, a Centennial Ceremony will be held from January 17th to 23rd.

The main theme of the ceremony is “The Good News at the Heart of the Great Mission”. Rev. Jura Yanagihara (AWF President) has been invited to preach on this theme on the 23rd in Conakry, capital of Guinea. The other speakers will be Rev. Célestin Koffi (AWF Africa Regional Coordinator), who will address the theme “Faith, a Look at the Past” on the 19th, in the city of Baro; and Rev. Mabiala Kenzo (Superintendent of the St. Lawrence District of C&MA Canada), who will speak about “The Call for Total Consecration” on the 20th, in the city of Kankan.

Pray that the grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ may be upon everyone who will attend the ceremony.

Praise God for all He has done in Guinea in the last 100 years, and pray that the Alliance Church may continue to be a blessing in this country!
