Meet Daniel Pereira, the New President of the Uruguayan Alliance

From Buena Union, Uruguay: Rev. Daniel Pereira is the new president of the Uruguayan Alliance. He hopes to strengthen relations among churches, the leadership and the AWF family. Please pray that God guides him and his family as they serve the C&MA in Uruguay.

Born in Buena Union, Uruguay, in 1988, Pastor Washington Daniel Pereira Melo is the new president of the Christian and Missionary Alliance of Uruguay. He was raised in a predominantly Catholic environment, but his family was also involved with Umbanda practices. Rev. Daniel came to Christ in March 2005 when he was 17 and going through a rebellious phase in his life. He is married to Silvia Machado. They have two children: Kamila, 9, and Lucas, 2.

Rev. Daniel finished his bachelor’s degree in Theology in 2014 at the Uruguay Alliance Theological Education Center (CETAU). In July 2015, he began serving as a pastor in the Alliance church in Tranqueras, where he is still a pastor. Serving this community has been a blessing for him. He was only 27 when he started in the ministry, and he is grateful for the community’s patience and kindness.

Rev. Daniel was elected national president in late 2021 and will serve for a year and a half. Under God’s guidance, he plans to strengthen the National Missions Department, facilitate relations between the churches and the Board of Directors, reinforce CLA and AWF relations, and complete pastoral transitions successfully.

Please pray for Pastor Daniel and his family. May God guide them and take care of them. Pray also for the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Uruguay to have more workers, financial stability, strength and growth.
