Reverend Merari Rodríguez accepted our Lord Jesus at the tender age of seven and has more than 20 years of experience in ministry. As the new President of the C&MA Church of Guatemala, he is aiming for continuous integral growth and strengthening of pastoral care in Guatemala.
Pastor Merari Rodríguez has served for several years with the National Board of Directors of the Christian & Missionary Alliance in Guatemala. At the last Assembly he was elected National President for the years 2020–2022. During this time, he will focus on the training of pastors and local and national leaders, the uniformity of the Alliance doctrine and its practice, pastoral care, church planting, missions and effective administration.
Pastor Rodríguez was born May 16, 1975 into a pastoral family. He is the eldest son of Marco Antonio and Flor. He has been married to Lucky Rodríguez for 20 years, and they have three daughters: Elizabeth, 19; Noemi, 17; and Mercy, 13. Merari was baptized at the age of 12, ordained as a pastor in February 2000 and as an Ordained Minister in February 2007. He graduated with a Bachelor of Bible Theology degree from the Alliance Bible Seminary of Guatemala and a Bachelor of Systematic Theology from Mariano Gálvez University of Guatemala.
Pastor Merari asks us to pray for the Lord’s guidance so that the C&MA of Guatemala is relevant to Guatemalan society during this time of COVID-19. Please pray also for provision for pastors who are facing financial problems due to the pandemic, and for the construction of the new church building where he ministers. The church will have a seating capacity of 1,000.
