Friday May 23 has been declared a “Day of Worshipping & Fasting” by the newly elected AWF Coordinator for Europe & the Middle East, Dmitry Lavrov.

Referring to Acts 13:2,3 he writes: “Let’s to listen to what the Holy Spirit is going to tell us. After we do so I believe God will show us what action steps need to be taken on order to lead the region into the future. May the Lord help us to be obedient to what He says”. Prayer topics are provided for each part of the day (and you are invited to join those who pray):

10.00 to 11.00
Netherlands

Pray for:

  • A new spiritual and theological unity in ABC Gemeenten (including Vision 2015-2020) and strengthening of the relationships with EMERALD
  • ABC Gemeenten to find new ways to proclaim the Gospel and bring the Dutch secular society to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.
  • That new churches may be established, especially in southern Netherlands.

CAMA Zending (Netherlands Mission)
Pray for

  • The 40 workers among 12 people groups doing work in church planting, theological training, BAM, medical work, counseling and development.
  • Coaching churches in the Netherlands to be more engaged and strategic in missions among the unreached.
  • Inspiring and supporting the youth to engage and support missions through vision trips, periods of practical work and student groups.

Germany
Pray for

  • Strengthening the Alliance identity and collaboration with the AWF family.
  • Development of young leaders
  • Introduction of training and educational programs.

France
Pray for

  • Mobilizing of churches for mission
  • Implementation of the church planting programme
  • Unity in following through re-structure and developing vision

Spain
Pray for

  • Continued growth amongst immigrants and greater impact on the indigenous population
  • Unity in the national church
  • The new national Alliance church in Italy and wisdom for the Spanish church’s guidance of it

12.00 to 13.00
Great Britain

Pray for

  • Vision, leadership and progress for the new Spanish group in London, street work in Gloucester and Polish group in Leeds
  • New workers, training and calling for leadership succession
  • The building of interest in mission partnerships in connection with EMERALD

Russia
Pray for

  • Church planting programs in Moscow and St Petersburg
  • Continued ability to minister in Crimea and Ukraine and for good relations between churches that hold different political views
  • Thank God with the ECMU (Evangelical Christian Missionary Union) Church in Russia for 20 years of God’s faithfulness and work in the country. The Lord has allowed them to plant nearly 80 churches and missionary groups over that period of time.

13.00 to 14.00
Jordan

Pray for

  • Completion of the building of the school and chapel, the registration of students to represent the full spectrum of society and the completion of the curriculum.
  • Continued ministry to immigrants both Iraqi and Syrian and the sensitivity of society in view of them becoming more than one fifth of the population.
  • Church congregations and workers as they feel the effects of people going to work or study overseas.

Lebanon
Pray for

  • The new churches in Rmeile and Sour and for wisdom for the pastors.
  • Ministry to immigrants from Sri Lanka, Sudan and the Syrians needing more workers and financial support.
  • The Bible school staff and students – that they will grow in the knowledge of the Lord.

Kurdistan – Fountain of Love Centre

Pray for

  • The people of Shoresh village that their hearts would be prepared to receive the word of the Lord.
  • Strength for the workers as they live in a difficult area in Northern Iraq.
  • For volunteers for the health, education and sports ministries who can explain the word of God.

Baghdad, Iraq
Pray for

  • The leadership: that they may be protected provided for and have wisdom for their ministry.
  • The opportunities that are occurring to engage with the political leaders of Iraq and Kurdistan

Syria
Pray for

  • Re-establishment of the work of the churches – in Homs, Aleppo and for protection and provision for the Christians
  • The three families recently suffering from the bombs in Damascus and for arrangements for the girl who lost her feet to be given artificial replacements.
  • Edward as he attends his daughter’s marriage and continues to hold the burden of the leadership in the disastrous situation.

15.00 to 16.00
Israel

Pray for

  • The Messianic church; and that they might receive invitations that the Lord would use to stir the hearts of His people
  • The diverse team of Alliance workers as they work on their own in many cases.
  • The work amongst drug addicts and vulnerable people.

Palestine
Pray for

  • The table ministry on the streets that it will continue to build relationships and provide opportunities for sharing the gospel.
  • The online church that seeks to answer people’s questions.
  • The church itself that the Lord will guide for the future and minister to the people.
