Rev. Dr. Jura Yanagihara
AWF President

Rev. Dr. Jura Yanagihara is an ordained pastor of the Brazilian Christian and Missionary Alliance and president of the Alliance World Fellowship. He studied engineering at the University of São Paulo (B.Sc. 1984) and Yokohama National University (M.Sc. 1987; Ph.D. 1990). Concurrently, he studied theology at the Covenant Seminary of Tokyo (B.D. 1989).

He married Mami in 1988 and together they started Salt of Earth Community (C&MA), the first Portuguese speaking church in Japan. In Brazil, he has served as senior pastor of Rudge Ramos Japanese Alliance Church (1991-2001), founding pastor of Paradise Alliance Church (2000-2016) and is now engaged in an international church planting project (2016-present).

He was also seminary president (1999-2010, 2015-2016) and national church president (2010-2014) of the Brazilian C&MA. His spiritual gifts include teaching, leadership and apostolate. He has a passion for missions, having organized the first long-term missionary project of the Brazilian C&MA. He also has a passion to inspire and help others to fulfill God’s purpose in their lives, having mentored many seminary students and pastors over the years.

Professionally, he had leadership experience as full professor and department head of the University of São Paulo and also as principal investigator of many multi-million international research projects. He has traveled to more than 50 countries and has lectured or preached using the Portuguese, Japanese, English and Spanish languages.

Jura and Mami have three grown children: Daniel (married to Paula), Priscila (married to Esteban) and Damaris (married to Wesley), all of them active in ministry.

Mr. Ken Baldes
AWF Treasurer

Ken has served as treasurer for The Christian and Missionary Alliance in the United States and vice president for Operations and Finance since October 2005. In this position, he is responsible for Finance, Information Technology and Alliance Benefits. Mr. Ken Baldes
AWF Treasurer

Ken has served as treasurer for The Christian and Missionary Alliance in the United States and vice president for Operations and Finance since October 2005. In this position, he is responsible for Finance, Information Technology and Alliance Benefits. He has a broad business knowledge, including audit, financial management, operations, product management, business development, and risk management. Ken is a member of ClayHouse Alliance Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He has served in various church leadership positions including elder, board member, church treasurer and assistant treasurer, global missions chair, small group leader and men’s Sunday school class teacher. He is married to Christy and they have three children: Tyler (married to Lauren), Kailie (married to Evan), and Jeremy. While he serves in the ministry of administration, his calling is from John 15:16: “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last.”

Rev. Célestin Koffi

AWF Vice President and Africa Regional Coordinator

Rev. Célestin Koffi has been AWF Africa Regional Coordinator since 2012. Over the years, he has served the Alliance church in a variety of roles, including being National President of the Alliance Church of Côte d’Ivoire for eight years.

Rev. Koffi completed his pastoral and theological studies in various institutes and seminaries: the Bible Institute of Yamoussoukro (Côte d’Ivoire), Canadian Theological Seminary of Regina (Canada), Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary of Philadelphia (USA) and Haggai Institute Maui (Mid-Pacific, USA).

He entered full time ministry in 1978 with Campus for Christ International of Côte d’Ivoire. Six years later he accepted the role as Senior Pastor of the Alliance Church Bouaké-Air France (1984-1987). Since then, he has served, taught and led Alliance Institutes in Yakro and Abidjan, in Côte d’Ivoire while continuing his ministry and leadership with Campus for Christ.

Célestin has been married to Geneviève since 1977. They have three children and three grandchildren.

Rev. Célestin Koffi

AWF Vice President and Africa Regional Coordinator

Rev. Célestin Koffi has been AWF Africa Regional Coordinator since 2012. Over the years, he has served the Alliance church in a variety of roles, including being National President of the Alliance Church of Côte d’Ivoire for eight years.

Rev. Ken Graham

AWF Asia Pacific Regional Coordinator

Rev. Ken Graham and his wife Merle have served for more than 30 years the C&MA in Australia. Ken graduated from Alliance College of Theology and entered immediately into ministry, serving as pastor of the Redlands Alliance Church in Brisbane, and as Senior Pastor at the Woden Valley Alliance Church in Canberra.

In 1992, Ken commenced ministry at the National Office of the C&MA Australia and has been a part of the Australian National Board since then, serving as treasurer, secretary and now as president. Ken served on the Regional Coordinating Committee of the Asia Pacific Region from 2015-2021. Rev. Munther Shahatit

AWF Europe & Middle East Regional Coordinator

Rev. Munther Shahatit is a hardworking, humble, compassionate, and motivated man. As a pastor and counselor, he combines “theories, techniques and biblical values to meet the needs of people who seek professional or spiritual help”.

He is native Jordanian and grew up in a nominal Christian home. He came to know the Lord personally when he was 19 years old, through one of his friends, now a pastor at a C&MA Church. He met his wife in the summer of 1990 and soon after got married, and together they pursued the Lord. Munther and his wife have four children, two daughters and two sons.

Rev. Munther has extensive work experience as a pastor, accountant, and counselor. As an accountant, he worked in the Jordanian army, in the Financial Department, and in the Housing Bank, Jordan, as a banker. As a counselor, he has worked in various organizations and entities, in Jordan and abroad, helping people recover from vices and addictions. He has also worked as a trauma counselor trainer in the SALT organization and is involved in Trauma Counselling Ministries in the whole Middle East region, providing professional trauma counseling and training. Currently, he works as a professional trauma consultant with Open Doors – Netherlands office since 2008, helping establish a trauma support ministry to the persecuted churches in the Middle East and North Africa region. He has also been working as a professional trauma consultant with the Jordan Bible Society since 2014.

Rev. Munther has been heavily involved in the ministry of the C&MA church in Jordan since 1990. In 2007, he began serving as the associate pastor at Second Circle C&MA church in Amman, being ordained in 2011. He has served as a national executive committee member, treasurer and vice president of the national C&MA church from 1994-2003 and from 2007-2017.

Rev. David Muthre

Rev. David Muthre has been serving the Lord at the Central Alliance Church in Milagro, Ecuador since May 19, 1991.

In July 2011, he received his Doctorate Honoris Causa in Religious Sciences from the Autonomous University of Quito, and in June 2013 he completed his bachelor’s degree in Theology and Religious Sciences with a specialization in Pastoral Psychology and Family Counseling.

David is the senior pastor of the Central Alliance Church in Milagro, with 15 congregations in 15 communities and a ministry team of 18 full-time employees. The church emphasizes aggressive evangelism, intensive discipleship and cross-cultural missionary work.

In 2006, David took over the leadership of the World Missions Department of the Ecuadorian C&MA and in November 2008 he became president of the Christian and Missionary Alliance of Ecuador where he will continue to serve until February 2023.

David is married to Isabel and they have three children: Keila Mishelle (married), Génesis Isabel and Josué David, and a grandson Emmanuel.

Rev. Bremwell (Brem) Frentz is an ordained pastor of the Canadian Christian and Missionary Alliance and has served in overseas missions until returning to Toronto, Canada in 2013 to become the Vice President of Global Ministries now called Venture. Since the Bangkok AWF Quadrennial in 2016, Brem also serves as the Regional Coordinator for North America and Secretary for the AWF Executive Committee. He studied at Capernwray Bible Schools in England and Sweden, then at Canadian Bible College in Regina, Saskatchewan where he received a BRE in 1981. Further studies include an M.Div. from Canadian Theological Seminary (1986-1989), the Arrow Leadership Program and the Leadership Matters Course.

He married Donna in 1982 and together they served at Rockyview Alliance Church in Calgary for four years. After seminary, the Frentz family began their overseas ministry in Indonesia from 1989-1999 where Brem taught at the Pontianak Theological School on the island of Borneo, Bandung Alliance School on Java and pastored the Bandung International Church. In 1998, Brem and Donna were also appointed to pioneer the Asian Spice Region for C&MA Canada and oversee the development of Canadian global personnel in the Asian context, working among least-reached people groups to “bring access to Jesus where few or none have heard” and launching church-planting initiatives.

His passion for pioneering missions emerged out of his clear cross-cultural call from God in 1980. He approaches ministry as a pastor, peacemaker, pioneer within a framework of being an agent for change, utilizing the spiritual gifts of apostolic leadership, shepherding, faith, and wisdom. His personal interests are all things related to sports, the outdoors, culture food and travel.

Brem and Donna have four children: Terri-Lynn (married to Jonathan), Jeremy (married to Jana), Brandon, and Danae, as well as five amazing grandchildren: Jenna, Owen, Sam, Etta, and Mandy.
