Great Fruits in Cuba
Retreat for the pastoral families of the Cuban Alliance
Amid the difficulties the Alliance Church in Cuba has been facing, we are able to praise the Lord for the wonderful things that have happened there. Many beautiful fruits have been harvested: New churches joining our family, hearts of all ages being touched by Jesus, encouragement among members, and so much more.
A time of refreshment amid so much shortage and needs. How wonderful it is to see the great fruits that the Alliance Church in Cuba has harvested over the last few years.
In the latest AWF News from Cuba (http://awf.world/awf-news/the-light-of-christ-is-shining-in-cuba/), we got to know a little about the Alliance family in that country, the political challenges, and the economic and social problems faced by pastoral families and the Christian community. However, we have also seen the power of God acting in the midst of this people.
We praise God and thank everyone who has been praying for the Cuban Alliance Church, and for all who have given their time and resources to bless our brothers and sisters there. By the grace of God, a retreat for the pastoral families of the Cuban Alliance church was held on February 11-15 of this year.
The theme of the retreat was “The Good News of the Gospel for Marriage and Family.” Two-hundred-fifty-six people (84 pastors and their families) attended the event, and shared a very blessed, encouraging and refreshing time.
The pastors’ families in Cuba are challenged daily with little privacy, and this retreat was very important to them. Some brothers of the C&MA of the United States also ministered to the children and teenagers.
On the last day of the retreat new churches were received by the Alliance as a result of the tireless work of church planting in 2018. Today, the C&MA in Cuba has 81 churches scattered throughout the island, but our dream and vision is to have 120 healthy churches, so that more Cubans have the opportunity to hear the good news of salvation through Jesus! Glory to God for this work!
As it is written in Galatians 6:9-10, “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.”
Join us in prayer for our Alliance family in Cuba:
- Pray for the process of changing the country’s constitution, which may open the possibility of legalizing the churches that have done a good work in the country. The C&MA is among these churches.
- Pray for the healthy growth of the churches in the midst of a restrictive regime.
- Pray for the pastoral families, for spiritual, material and emotional strength.
- Pray for the needs of the churches.
- Pray for the economic crisis in the country.
- Pray for the theological training of the new leaders.
