AWF EMERALD Regional Conference in Germany

January 29, 2019

Excitement is in the air as the AWF EMERALD (Europe & the Middle East) Region prepares for their Annual Conference of 2019 in Frankfurt, Germany. The theme is “Living the Fourfold Gospel”. Our brothers and sisters will be sharing experiences, learning from one another and encouraging each other. Let us pray that this event will be a huge blessing to those participating and that it will reach many lives.

Excitement is in the air as the AWF EMERALD (Europe & the Middle East) Region prepares for their Annual Conference of 2019 that will take place in Frankfurt, Germany. The theme this year is “Living the Fourfold Gospel”. The church responsible for the preparations is the Alliance national church in Germany (MAKD). Vernon Rehmann, the president and Erwin Hügelschäfer, the vice-president, are playing an important role in the preparations, including making the invitation videos.

The event, which lasts from May 1–4, will be organized in two parts. In the mornings, there will be a Symposium of Alliance Theology, where Dr. Bernie Van de Walle, chairman of the International Commission on Theological Education (ICTE), Dr. Dr. Marco Wittenberg (ICTE) and Dr. Jack Sara (ICTE) will be talking. The aim is to “deepen our understanding of the Alliance thought and its implication to our life and ministry.”

The second part happens in the evenings, where Steve Fowler, of the Salem Alliance, and Rob Bashioum, from the Reach Training Institute, will talk about “Living in the Fourfold Gospel to fulfill our mandate as a missionary church, making disciples among all nations.”

Before the actual conference, there will be a meeting for the AWF Global Network of Missions Leaders, April 28 and 29, and three (3) Pre-Conference Workshops, from April 29 to May 1: The Latin Ministry Workshop, led by José Chinchila (Berlin) & Pastor Luise (Frankfurt), the Chinese Ministry Workshop, led by Pastor Alex & Christian Lukas (Berlin) and Pastor Samuel (Dortmund), and the Arabic Ministry Workshop. All workshops will have English translation available.

The Arabic Ministry Workshop brings a surprise. The main speaker at the Arabic will be Yassir Eric, an outstanding expert on Islam, not only academically, but also because of his personal migration background. He has been directing the European Institute for Migration, Integration and Islamic Issues (EIMI) at AWM since 2013.

The purpose of these Pre-Conference Workshops is to “provide an opportunity for ministry workers in their people group to come together and encourage one another”.

Let us pray that our participating brothers and sisters have a blessed time under God’s direction and light. Please, also pray that all those attending have a safe trip.
